The Long-distance Creative Club with Claire Akkan
Join me and Claire for a conversation about creative projects and the joys of leading a cultural life
You are officially invited to the second session of the Long-distance Creative Club!
I’m so pleased to share that this month we will be joined by
of ☕When I came up with the idea for the club, I started a bit of a wish list of all the creatives I would love to have as guests over time, and Claire was someone I really hoped to interview one day!
She is an incredibly talented creative, writer, consultant (and much more!) based in New York. She is one of the first writers I started to read here on Substack, and even without knowing each other, I always felt that we had so much in common that if our lives were swapped and I lived in New York, that’s pretty much how my life would look like.
In addition to her fantastic newsletter, Claire is also the creator behind the most incredible bag project, giving “beautiful vintage bags a new lease on life.” In Claire’s words:
“I hand-select each bag and carefully curate a new lining made from cast-off designer fabrics or antique silk scarves. So each bag is one of one. I release only a few bags at a time in small drops, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter to stay up to date.”
We were hoping to meet for a cappuccino while she is in Paris this month, but as I will be away, I thought we could turn our Zoom chat into a club session instead.
In our call, we will be talking about running creative projects on the side of a job/family/caring responsibilities, Claire’s experience with her bag projects and how we make the time to fill life with creativity and culture.
We will be sending out the link to join the call ahead of the day, but don’t forget to mark this on your calendars. I look forward to seeing you there!
